Welcome to Sacred Heart Cathedral

Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ! (Eph. 1:2)

It is with joy that I welcome you to the Cathedral of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Prince George.  The Communion antiphon for the Ritual Mass for the Dedication of a Church says: "My house shall be a house of prayer, says the Lord: in that house, everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened."  

Whether you are new to the parish or are long-time parishioners, I pray that the content of the antiphon above will be fulfilled in you when you enter Sacred Heart Cathedral.  I hope that the solemn celebration of the Church's Liturgy at the Cathedral will continue to assist you in your spiritual life, deepen your faith, and cultivate your relationship with God who dwells in the beauty and simplicity of our Church.  It is also my aspiration that you will experience hospitality with everyone you will meet here. I invite you to join us in our daily offering of the Sacrifice of the Mass especially every Sunday, the Day of the Lord. 

Our parish website has been redesigned to allow for more information to be shared with everyone.  The Second Vatican Council, Decree on the Apostolate of the Laity mentions: "As sharers in the role of Christ as priest, prophet, and king, the laity have their work cut out for them in the life and activity of the Church. Their activity is so necessary within the Church communities that without it the apostolate of the pastors is often unable to achieve its full effectiveness." As you navigate our website, may you be inspired to be involved in the prayer life and ministries of our parish.
