Music Ministry

"Liturgical worship is given a more noble form when it is celebrated in song, with the ministers of each degree fulfilling their ministry and the people participating in it." (§5, Musicam Sacram) 

The Cathedral is blessed with several choirs.  We draw our music from two resources: Catholic Book of Worship (CBW III) and Glory and Praise.

One of the greatest influences in the quality of our worship at the Cathedral is liturgical music and the singing of the assembly.  The role of this ministry is to lead and support the assembly.  The musicians and choir members encourage the assembly to articulate their faith and come alive at liturgy.

This ministry involves practices, working with a variety of music and committing to a rotational schedule for providing music at each Mass.
