After Jesus was baptized the Spirit drove him out into the wilderness. He was in the wilderness forty days, tempted by Satan; and he was with the wild beasts; and the Angels waited on him.

Jesus said to his disciples: “Beware of practising your piety before people in order to be seen by them…your Father who sees in secret will reward you.” (Matthew 6.1-18)

Moved with pity, Jesus stretched out his hand and touched him, and said to him, “I do choose. Be made clean!” Immediately the leprosy left him, and he was made clean. (Mark 1.41-42)
